Essential Vocabulary & Jargon
Global Citizenship- the rights, responsibilities, & duties that come with being a member of the global entity as a citizen of a particular nation or place
Globalization- the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or advance to an international scale
Global Competency- the acquisition of in-depth knowledge and understanding of international issues, an appreciation of and ability too learn and work with people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
Cosmopolitanism- the ideology that all human beings belong to a single community, based on a shared morality
Top 10 Characteristics of Globally Competent Teachers
- Understanding one's own cultural identity and its influence on personal dispositions and classroom practice.
- Knowing and integrating global dimensions within the disciplines one teaches.
