a Florida, USA based educator with a passion for travel, children, and globalizing curriculum. I currently teach English/Language Arts at the secondary level, with certifications in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. While working with a student population with a wealth of national diversity, I became dissatisfied with the traditional texts, tools and topics. I felt that all teachers should be culturally responsive and seek to promote global competency, but where do you start?
Then I became a Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellow , a program funded by the U.S. Dept. of State, and gained access to a resource gold mine! Now I have the training and techniques to share. Time to travel! Explore my site and use whatever you can, and follow my blog as I start a lifetime of international field experience, that started with my life changing experience in PERU!!! |
Teacher Goal: Inspire my students to become global citizens and enrich my practices and curriculum through passport PD!
My general commentary on education and travel can be found under the BLOG tab, but check the TRAVEL tap for country specific blogs and footage. The STUDY and TEACH tabs are for resources on global curriculum and bringing the world into your classroom or any educational program.
